The research basis behind restricting the youngest students

Assistant Superintendent Dr. Sanée Bell tied the policy directly to a specific research finding: AI-assisted practice can boost scores on practice questions while simultaneously weakening performance on unassisted exams, a pattern suggesting students can develop a false sense of mastery when AI assistance is present that does not transfer to genuine unassisted competence.
