After 22 years leading technology teams from startups to large enterprises, I've never seen tools that empower individuals so much, like AI does now. 

𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 will never be the same anymore, but I can assure you 𝗜𝗧'𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗔𝗗! It requires an immediate strong restructure, especially to large and bureaucratic enterprises.

∞ Here are my 6 cents on how we should implement AI internally and make the most out of it:

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸

❗️If everyone is a superhero now, no-one is a superhero. So make sure the work among your people is correctly orchestrated for maximum performance and output.

1️⃣️ 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗮 "𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 / 𝗘𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁" 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺

➡ Share assets across teams, centralize AI access, curate prompt + agent libraries, enable tools like CodeX, Copilot, etc. Central IaaC, DevOps, RAG pipelines, etc.

❗️Enables guardrails, policy gates, audits, protects PIIs, adds governance and much more.

‼️This will free the teams to focus on their work and not on the tools.

2️⃣ 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗱-𝘁𝗼-𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀-𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀

➡ You're not a prompt away from building your Production Ready SaaS. There's a lot to be considered before going live, so make sure the roles and expectations for every member are well defined.

❗️PO / PM, Engineers, SDET/QA, UX/UI, etc... every member counts!

‼️Ownership is the key and will lead to a faster delivery.

3️️⃣ 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 (𝗔𝗜-𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁, 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻)

➡ AI-first PRs: AI Drafts; Humans designs, reviews, adapts and risks.

➡ Blueprints: Service templates with tests, tracing, policies and CI/CD completely embedded.

➡ Shared RAG: Single source of truth with aggressive PII redaction and access controls.

❗️This adds a high throughput without chaos.

‼️Enables reproducibility and audibility by default.

4️⃣ 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀

➡ A full implementation, here's what you should expect: 

-- ❶ Cycle time ↓ 40-60%

-- ❷ PR throughput ↑ 2-3×

-- ❸ MTTR ↓ 30-50%

-- ❹ Test coverage stable or ↑ despite velocity

-- ❺ AI contribution ratio (code lines or diffs) 

❗️This will prove real gains and will prevent speed-at-any-cost kind of trap.

‼️ Take actions on non-moving needles as soon as you spot them.

5️⃣ 𝗔𝗱𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

➡ It's your team’s fixed operating rhythm. It’s the who/what/how often for recurring rituals so decisions, learning and shipping happen predictably.

➡ Host Show&Tell / Demos regularly to other teams (including outside of engineering), add post-incident learnings with next steps and at least once every quarter, add an architecture runaway to retire tech debt with AI Assist, of course.

❗️ This structure will support to keep everyone and everything in the loop, fixing the past, with eyes on the future but focusing on the present.
